New Hair style

Okay....remember it is only hair:) I let my daughter go to the hair salon and I stated to our lady that Liz wanted dark underneath and light on top. (mom was thinking something suddle). This is the new trend and we thought it would be fun and different for her 14th birthday. I came home to a completely different daughter. Suddle is definitely not what I got but....I really like it! She is in love with it. She also got a snowboard with bindings and boots for her birthday. (yes it came early...but it was a good sale) Next weekend is a day with all her friends to help celebrate.

The cool thing is she saved up her own money from babysitting to do this. Does any one have a pill that slows down the growing up process. Oh one last thing she tried out for the junior high musical play and will get the results this Wednesday.

Mikaela is going through growing spurt last week she ate everything Aunt Debbie could find and then this week woke up crying because her legs hurt so bad. We could not figure why they would hurt because she had not done anything physical...then I realized when Liz went through that around that age. I can guarantee we will be purchasing new jeans next week. Tomorrow is a mom and Mikaela day!!! YAY I am so excited.

Revolve Tour 2009

Revolve Tour 2009 with Liz, Theresa, and Xenia. This is a Women of Faith conference for teenage girls. It is an awesome experience and I always feel like we come back with our cups spritually filled. The pictures did not turn out so well, but have fun with the ones I have posted.

We also spent time on Sunday with Deb and Dennis and family as well as some good ole Denver shopping.

Liz got a new snowboard with bindings and boots for her 14th birthday (yah a little early but a great deal)!

Mikaela did some clothes shopping. She is ready to have a weekend at home. (so am I!).

Now it is time to start planning a teenage birthday pary....Any suggestions?????

Love to all

Mattni and Liz
Thank you to everyone who helped support this amazing opportunity!

We have returned safely:) What an amazing trip....I was a little shocked at what Spokane WA was. It was dirty and we were right in the middle of the "bad" neighbor hood. The children got exposed to lots of "different" culture and were introduced to many new sites. We did lots of walking (not by choice) and saw parts of neighorhoods late at night that 4-7th graders should not be seeing. We hired a company to organize the trip (aka trip dude) and if I can honestly say the man should not have been paid anything. His "it is only one block" was really 3 blocks or more and "the bus does not run after 9pm" when we found out it runs until after midnight everynight. Then we walked two blocks to get to our bus stop and found out the last night we are there that the bus stop is truly behind our hotel. Oh and we had many calls from aka trip dude saying "oh we have a small change" this became our joke for the rest of the week. So when the pilot came on at the end of our trip and announced there would be a short delay do to a computer malfunction. 22 children stood up and said "only one small change" (hope you see the humor)

Okay enough about that.

Mom (Theresa) was chaperoning 2 - 4th grade boys and I can honestly say I truly know nothing about boys. They were great but I kept losing them????? The two older teenage girls (Liz and Mattnie) were a blast and kept everyone entertain while we waited for public transportation (bus system). They became the official group cheerleaders.

As for the purpose of the trip....The drumming cirlce was given the lead spot for the "key note speaker" The rocked the top off the building it was awesome. They received and extended standing ovation.

I am glad to be home but guess what????? We head out of town again this Friday to Denver for the Revolve Tour 2009! Will blog again next week.

Mikaela, dad, and Xenia did survive without us:(

Some pics to share...I also posted pics on facebook and myspace. If you want more I can send via walgreens just let me know.

Quick Updates

Ken is off work for the week...

Theresa and Liz leave for Spokane Washington on Thursday morning for Liz's drumming circle.

Mikaela is kicking ### is Tae Kwon Do.

Xenia...just getting over her first cold here in the United States.

Liz has decided to retire from the Casper Youth Orchestra for the spring semester. As they have a new director and most of the members have dropped out. She is finding that Junior high school work is increasingly getting harder and bigger projects so the stress level has definitely increase (she's not like her mom or anything when it comes to stress). So she is staying with the trombone with the school band and is now moving on to some more acting. She just got word that she got a main part in the church spring play. (Another reason CYO had to be let go; mom does not have enough hours in the day:) Drumming circle will come to an end after this trip.

Looks like mom sees light at the end of the tunnel. I always want my kids involved but am also relieved when things settle down.

I tend to like Mikaela's life style of ...HEY lets just hang out at home tonight but do hope that she gets a little more involved as she grows.

I love being a mom and watching how they develop their own ways of life.

Love to all
Theresa
